The Greywall clan hails from the Crags, north of Neverwinter. For many generations, the Greywalls have been in charge of guarding the gates of the Iron Fortress.

Tarkin is the heir of the Greywall clan, entrusted with the magical Greywall shield, the most valued artifact of the clan, passed from father to son from time immemorial.

Ruthinn, the second son, took a different path, becoming a cleric of Sune, goddess of beauty, a choice that greatly upset his father. To prove that also a priest of Sune could carry his own weight, he often joined Tarkin on the walls of the fortress to stand guard.

While they were both on duty at the gates, the Iron Fortress was attacked by the armies of the Cult of the Dragon, led by a mighty Blue Dragon!

The Cult was not looking to conquer the fortress, but to steal the treasures of the dwarves. Tarkin and his brother Ruthinn challenged the dragon, but their bravery alone could not defeat such a mighty foe. They were bathed in the lightning breath of the dragon, and fell unconscious.

When they awoke, their fortress was a ruin, the corpses of their family surrounded them, and the doors of the vault were open, the big chamber now empty. But even worse, the Greywall shield had been taken!

Tarkin and Ruthinn now have a clear quest: recover the Greywall shield, and avenge their kin!
