Inala

Gnome Wizard (Sage)

[CHARACTER SHEET]

Inala was the apprentice of the great mage Xonthal. She was very talented, and always ready to show off her intelligence and magical power. She definitely liked to be adored and appreciated by those around her.

To punish her for her hubris, Xonthal imprisoned her in a magical vortex of elemental air. He only meant to keep her there for a few days, but then tragedy struck, and Xonthal disappeared. Inala was held in stasis for a couple of centuries, until the Heroes arrived at Xonthal's Tower and freed her from her prison.

Arrakas

Dragonborn Paladin/Warlock (Soldier)

[CHARACTER SHEET]

Arrakas is the son of Erafras, a Dragonborn clan leader that rebelled against the human noble lord that ruled over the lands occupied by Arrakas’ father.

The human Lord took in Arrakas as a ward, as to protect his people against a new rebellion. During this time Arrakas was raised as one of his own sons and trained and taught as if Arrakas was a human noble child. During his teens, Arrakas was sent to a Paladin Order to squire for the Paladin Knights together with the Lord’s son, Devin. Arrakas was allowed to keep praying to his own gods, the Ancient Dragon Spirits of his forefathers, as long as he kept fighting for the peace and light in the world.

They quickly caught the attention of the Paladins and rose in rank quite early for their age. They were part of a unit in charge of patrolling the borders and gained experience fighting cultists, necromancers and other evil creatures.

It was not long before they both gained ranks, quickly rising to officer rank. When word reached Erafras, he sent word to Arrakas that he was no longer welcome in his clan, as he had become a human lapdog and the clan would no longer accept him as one of their own.

Arrakas regretted his father’s decision, but had gained a new family in his brother Devin & his Holy Order.

During a mission that seemed quite routine, Arrakas’s unit was wiped out entirely by a huge white dragon, and Devin was brutally ripped apart by drakes commanded by Dragon Cultists. In his dying moments, Arrakas heard a booming voice in Draconic speak to him: "Try harder little dragonling. You swore an oath to me, you try to act like us, but clearly that's not enough to keep you out of your grave. No, you need to be like us. Now get up, and taste our true power."

It was at this time that Arrakas realized he had been chosen to be patronized by the Ancient Dragon Spirits and he would receive powers from them unknown to others in this world.

He now seeks out the Dragon Cultists actively, not only by order of his Paladin Commander, but also driven by the Spirits, demanding that he clears their threat.

Death (session 44): Eaten by Tiamat.

Tarkin Greywall

Dwarf Fighter (Soldier)

[CHARACTER SHEET]

The Greywall clan hails from the Crags, north of Neverwinter. For many generations, the Greywalls have been in charge of guarding the gates of the Iron Fortress.

Tarkin is the heir of the Greywall clan, entrusted with the magical Greywall shield, the most valued artifact of the clan, passed from father to son from time immemorial.

Ruthinn, the second son, took a different path, becoming a cleric of Sune, goddess of beauty, a choice that greatly upset his father. To prove that also a priest of Sune could carry his own weight, he often joined Tarkin on the walls of the fortress to stand guard.

While they were both on duty at the gates, the Iron Fortress was attacked by the armies of the Cult of the Dragon, led by a mighty Blue Dragon!

The Cult was not looking to conquer the fortress, but to steal the treasures of the dwarves. Tarkin and his brother Ruthinn challenged the dragon, but their bravery alone could not defeat such a mighty foe. They were bathed in the lightning breath of the dragon, and fell unconscious.

When they awoke, their fortress was a ruin, the corpses of their family surrounded them, and the doors of the vault were open, the big chamber now empty. But even worse, the Greywall shield had been taken!

Tarkin and Ruthinn now have a clear quest: recover the Greywall shield, and avenge their kin!

Solomon "Olo" Saltytooth

Halfling Rogue (Criminal)

[CHARACTER SHEET]

The town of Phandalin is built on the ruins of an older settlement, vacant for five centuries until some hardy settlers set about rebuilding it some years back. Drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the nearby foothills, Olo came to Phandalin as well, not to earn a living, but to prey on those who struck it rich.

He joined a gang calling itself the Redbrands and made some decent coin as a burglar, enforcer, or fence. But he must have made an enemy among his fellow Redbrands. Someone set him up. On that person’s word, the head of the Redbrands—a wizard called Glasstaff—tried to have Olo killed. He escaped, barely alive and thanking Tymora, the goddess of good fortune, for his luck. He fled Phandalin, almost penniless and with only the tools of his trade to his name.

Death (session 44): Eaten by Tiamat.
