The Heroes are ambushed by a group of giant spiders led by monstrous ettercaps, which they defeat without too much trouble. The eventually arrive at a pool of murky water, fed by a waterfall. While they inspect the area, the green dragon Chuth flies out of the cave behind the waterfall, bathing them in his poisonous breath! Then he reapidly retreats in the cave.
After some healing magic, the Heroes enter the cave, where they find a few elven slaves, forced into the service of the dragon. They do not pose much trouble, and when the Heroes convince them to run away, Chuth appears again for a second attack. This time he tries to finish the Heroes off with his claws and bite, and of course his poisonous breath. When the Heroes' magic and arrows manage to wound him, he retreats once again by diving into the underground lake occupying the cavern.
While the rest of the party prepares for a swim, Cira scouts ahead, spotting Chuth together with the wyrmspeaker and a young elven slave. Even though last time she saw him he was just an infant, Cira recognizes her brother in that elven slave!
When she returns to the cave with her findings, the Heroes are attacked by a group of cultists. They rapidly defeat them, but it is obvious that getting out of these caves alive will be a challenge, as more and more minions of the wyrmspeaker approach.
